That is the cheer they say A LOT here and I was very happy to have it said for me for the first time ever at work on Thursday. I didn`t do anything particular, in fact, I was sharpening pencils for the kids and they started the cheer.
I love everyday when I get to work I`m greeted with a group hug and lots of "LISA LISA LISA!" I can`t think of a better way to start the day.
Today the english teacher told me my spanish is getting better, which is always encouraging.
Israel is always full of questions and he commonly asks me why my eyes are green. The last couple days he`s hit me with all sorts of questions: Do I have any friends? Where are they? Where is my sister (not sure how he knew I had a sister)? Why are my eyes green? Why do I speak English? Why is my hair yellow? It`s good practice for me to work through answering all his questions in spanish.
On Fridays the kids get to dress down (in sweatpants and tennis shoes) for gym class (which didn`t happen today and I`m still not sure why...Melissa thinks the gym teacher quit). Regardless the kids showed up in their Friday gear and all of them wanted to show off their tennis shoes. It was so cute to see them so excited about it!
Here gusta/o means I like you...quiero means I like you a lot...amor means love. Felipe, one of the super smart kids who can definitely be a trouble maker (he`s actually the only kid I ever sent to the office), looks over at me and says "Yo quiero mucho." It just made my day as I sat in the sun while they were doing a little exercise for them to move around, but organizedish. We`ve had GREAT weather this week. I think it got into the 80s everyday. It`s made my exercise sessions on the roof all the more enjoyable.
So there are a few random stories from work to wrap up my week of postings on work at the guardaria.
