Just for Fun!

It's Monday and for some reason I am less ready for Monday than usual.
So let's do something fun!

Go to gobarbara.com and type your name in the large square.  Then click Go!.  They'll add your name in a song.  It's just for fun!

Karen gave me a gift card for Starbucks so this morning definitely called for a Pumpkin Spice Latte.  I always take a mug.  Usually a real mug, not the traveling cup.  Then I walk back with my mug.  I used to notice people staring at me, but I don't even notice anymore.  I don't care if it's odd.
I got back to my place and the only neighbor I have somewhat of a relationship with (by relationship I mean if we run into each other, we have a conversation or if we see each other on the street, we say hello).  He immediately commented on my mug and said how he does the same thing and also ignores the stares.
I'm not the only one!  Yay!

HAPPY MONDAY!  We can make it!!!

p.s. In case you are wondering, the Cardinals won last night.  We're now 1-0 up this series.  I definitely received some comments sporting my Cardinals sweatshirt Saturday.  Oh Cubs fans...
Dad & I were in Stanley's Saturday and I got a huge bag of peanuts.  I said "I'm getting a huge bag to last all of October because we're going to be playing all October."  ;)

My parents visited me this weekend and we actually went to Michigan Avenue this weekend.  I say actually because I so rarely go down there.  Anywho they have these picture things set-up now where you take your picture and they email you the photo.
Yes, I know, it's pretty much an ad.

Fall Fun!

We could not have asked for better fall weather this weekend.  70 degrees.  Sunny.  We just wanted to be outside the entire time.   We went for runs and decided we needed to spend even more time appreciating the fall foliage, which apparently will peak in two weeks.  So two more weeks to enjoy!  We checked out a new to us restaurant.   Then we took a trip to Grant's Farm, which neither one of us had been to since we were kids.  And neither one of us remembered.  Capping off another day spent outside. Monday I hopped on my bike to get to work and my body felt tired from the fun of the weekend.  I looked out my window at my desk and saw so many beautiful leaves, I took a photo on the walk back to where I park my bike. P.S. Yes, I got a new job!  Hooray!  A more detailed update is coming.

26 miles in 26 days

So the title isn`t exactly correct, but I ran a marathon yesterday and it was Melissa & my`s one month being here. But Caro helped me come up with the title and I thought it was catchy. So marathon #2 and a completely different experience than the one I ran last year in Chicago. Lisa Rottler Chamberlin is the name I ran the race with...I tried to sign up as Lisa Rottler, but it forced me to enter mom`s maiden name or i couldn`t continue with registration. the first difference I experienced this marathon in a very different way. In Chicago I was competitive I would say. It was on my mind since February of last year when I signed up. I was didigent about training and very serious about it. This year I signed up like 3 weeks ago and it was very last minute. Although, I ran like I was training for the marathon this summer in Chicago-that was 2 months ago. Last year the weekend of the marathon I rested. This year Friday night I went to my first quinceanera and got home at 4 a...

Fall Photos

After admiring the leaves on our runs and my bike to work, we recruited my parents to take some photos of us there this weekend.   After these photos (and tackling some IT issues for my parents) we went to a birthday gathering at the jazz festival on Cherokee Street.  I liked it more than I thought I would. As the night wore on, I started chatting with one of the friend of a friend's there.  I started going in to what a crazy year and some change it's been and, whew, it really started to overwhelm me.   This morning, Mike woke up overwhelmed by our world/specifically our country.  I woke up with that conversation still in my head and also felt overwhelmed.  We treated ourselves to Sump Coffee and had a chat.  It's not always we sit down and talk about what we want and steps to get there. Fall feels like the perfect time to reset.  As we went through the day I also thought, it's okay to miss things in the past, but it woul...
