How do you choose a book for your book club?
This is not an easy question. I've heard of book clubs where each person takes a turn at choosing a book. We usually try to choose as a group. The majority of us use the library so number of books available there is always a consideration.
We've read many different book lists. Best of 2013. It works best to go back at least a year so they aren't as popular at the library.
We've ranged from picking based on the month we would discuss. We read Obama's book for Black History Month. A book based in Cuba for Hispanic Heritage Month. We'll do light and fluffy in the summer for a summer read.
My go to is always historical fiction. We read a few of those.
We're all over the place, which makes since because we are a diverse group of girls and we like different types of books.
