*by annual I mean this is the second year I made an evening of it... so therefore it's now annual
I really like Valentine's Day. Maybe it's because I am single and have zero pressure. When I've been in relationships on Valentine's Day, I didn't like it, strangely enough.
That's just me.
I picked a night to dive into my Valentine's cards again this year (last year).
I set the mood by watching The Notebook during the day. Seriously, I think that movie has to be watched in moderation in order to have some appreciation.
Then I turned on pandora love station. I listen to this station once a year. For card making night.
I jumped in & loved it!
This year I added QRC codes on the inside of some of them to songs. (Make your own here. So quick and easy.) Just kind-of a fun thing to mix it up.
As I was making my cards this year, I thought this could actually be a fun friend thing. I'm not sure any of my friends are in to homemade cards or anyone would want to participate. I think it would be fun though. Everyone could bring some paper or supplies and we can go at cards. (No glitter allowed.) Not sure, but something to think about for next year.
Although, this would force me to switch up my current system: lay out all my materials on the floor, have a seat (on the floor), pick and choose to design the cards. I don't think everyone would be so keen to sit on the floor with me.
update: usually my family just seems to make fun of my cards or nicely say they are "interesting." this year they may have actually been a hit.
And today...
I'm going out with a girl friend tonight, but I can't honestly say it was in anticipation of Galentine's Day. It's a coincidence.
