so i'm not a huge shopper. i generally don't enjoy it, but the spring dresses keep catching my eye.
i'm going to call it spring fever. it's springtime and i'm feeling obsessed with spring dresses.
usually when i shop, i pick out what i want beforehand so i can get in, do the shopping and get out as quickly and efficiently as possible. so a few weeks ago i saw the cutest summer dress in a store window and i wanted it so bad. finally, sunday i went to find it. it was helpful to ride my bike to the store and calm myself down before entering. i pulled the dress up on my phone and asked if they have it. nope. sold out. then i went to the next store in the city. not my size. today i made my way to store #3 (and the last one) in the city. not my size. but this time, i'm not sure if it's because it was monday so they weren't as busy or because they were just nicer, but they called around to other stores, found my size, and they're supposed to be sending me the dress. whew. that was a lot of work for a dress.
then there was this T-shirt i saw in a store window last week, that i could totally see myself enjoying. i could tell in the window it was a men's shirt, but i was hoping against hope they would have it in women's. no. then i thought maybe i can do the men's shirt. i held the smallest one they had up to me. no. so i took a picture of it and it is currently my screen saver on my phone. that's just going to have to do.
and that was my BIG shopping trip. i didn't get either thing i set out to get. so i, in fact, got nothing. although i WILL be receiving that dress....
i really like this idea. it sounds so much better to me.

little unrelated update:
regarding my igo disaster rental from last week. i needed to check on some of my upcoming reservations so i called igo saturday at work and started chatting with the fellow. i never told him i had the car when it broke down, but if i understood correctly, something was sawed off the car. apparently, it can be resold for money. oh man. i never claimed we go to super nice and upscale neighborhoods for this grant.
i just hope that doesn't happen again.
Lisa, is "Igo" similar to a Zipcar?
ReplyDeleteYep, it's the same exact idea, just a different company.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if Zipcar is non-profit, but I-Go (http://www.igocars.org/) is. I'm not quite sure what the difference is besides they might have plans that might be better for one person or another.
