Yep, it's recap time from the week my family and I spent at the Lake.
My parents rented a house and a boat for our family for the week. We were around mile 24 for those of you who've been there before.
Dad, Mom, Jeff, Greta & Charlie all slept in the guest house so that meant... Karen & I had the whole main house to ourselves. ;) (If only we didn't disagree on the temperature so much. I like it warmer than her).
That might be a bit of an exaggeration. We had the whole place to ourselves, unless someone wanted food, hang out in the living room, do laundry, etc.
We pretty much relaxed the whole time we were there.
We were out on the boat at least once a day.
We got in some tubing and skiing. (No pictures exist of tubing, but it happened. My scabs from the cloth burn just came off at the end of last week. And just ask Karen. She was sore. We all were.)
I think we were all pleasantly surprised we could still ski. Greta even got up for the first time ever. And we all improved as the week went on. Jeff makes things look super easy, but he decided to ski for a bit on one ski.
Rather than making you look at pictures of each one of us skiing, here's one of me.
Charlie loves the water!
One day while Jeff, Greta, Karen, & Charlie were at the water park. Dad, Mom, & I decided to cruise. So cruise we did.
One night we drove (the boat, of course, we spent very little time in an actual vehicle during the week) across the lake to a fun little bar for kids night out. We jammed to Jamaican music.
Mom liked to have photo shoots in the morning on one of the many decks. It didn't matter if you were in your running clothes or pjs. They happened. Here is a small sample.
Then the man who owned the house, happened to be a photographer. So he came over to take some photos as well...
And if you've stuck with me this long, I shall finish with a story.
Our last night there we were all ready for a nice night boat ride. We just got back from our night out for dinner so we were in our dresses, etc and we hopped on the boat. Little did we know in the first 5 minutes we would hit a huge wave, the boat would bounce, and we would ALL be drenched! It was like that ride at six flags where you go down a hill and get drenched, except we had no idea it was coming.
Drenched!
Yay!
"That'll cool you off." -Dad Not that we were hot exactly.
Mom gave each of us one of these and in the sun the flower and petals move. I love it. It now sits in my window sill and moves back and forth all day.

This was the general set-up: driver, watcher, person with sleeping Charlie (or entertaining awake Charlie)-usually Greta |
Flag holder This may look unimportant, but it is in fact very important. And photographer. How else would you be able to see these fine photos? |
