Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  I hope you're having a lovely day doing what you're doing!

Karen & I ran a 5k this morning in a nearby town.

Hit up Grandma's traditional Thanksgiving breakfast.  Yum!

And now we are prepping for Thanksgiving celebrations.  I'm pretty excited to make this green bean casserole.

What is inevitable for me on Thanksgiving?  Questions/comments on why I'm a vegetarian, which I don't mind.  I know they do it with love.  Or at least I think so.
I honestly don't feel like I miss out on anything on Thanksgiving aka Turkey Day.
Becoming a vegetarian was very easy for me.  I'm naturally not a huge fan of meat so it was a pretty natural transition.  I really can't think of a time I've craved any meat but fish.
I know some people find vegetarianism very hard because they crave meat.  Everyone is different.  I don't.  You can think it's weird, but I may think it's odd you don't like spinach, but I won't give you a hard time about it. ;)

But hey, what's the real point of Thanksgiving.  Being Thankful!
I always have a lot to be thankful for & I hope you do to.  I hope you can take a second to think about some of those things today & remember how two unlikely groups came together to celebrate today (or at least that's how the story goes)...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

museum field trip

i've been doing really well on my field trip resolution . yesterday i hit up another one:  the chicago history museum .  it turns out it was a free day there, even though i was going to get in free anyway.  that means it was busy! which is fine, i still got to take a gander around.   I've never been to the history museum before so that in itself was exciting. probably my favorite part was when they talked about the world's fair in chicago (i can't remember the exact name).  the buildings were so much grander than i imagined them in my mind while i read, devil in the white city a couple months ago.  it was fun to see what it was really like.  and wow! there was also an awesome exhibit about workers rights and such. so it was a fun little excursion.

26 miles in 26 days

So the title isn`t exactly correct, but I ran a marathon yesterday and it was Melissa & my`s one month being here. But Caro helped me come up with the title and I thought it was catchy. So marathon #2 and a completely different experience than the one I ran last year in Chicago. Lisa Rottler Chamberlin is the name I ran the race with...I tried to sign up as Lisa Rottler, but it forced me to enter mom`s maiden name or i couldn`t continue with registration. the first difference I experienced this marathon in a very different way. In Chicago I was competitive I would say. It was on my mind since February of last year when I signed up. I was didigent about training and very serious about it. This year I signed up like 3 weeks ago and it was very last minute. Although, I ran like I was training for the marathon this summer in Chicago-that was 2 months ago. Last year the weekend of the marathon I rested. This year Friday night I went to my first quinceanera and got home at 4 a...

(details to follow) but as far as today goes... I have to share this with you because I think it's funny ( via ) actually... at 11:11 I was running around looking for a book called The Moon Seems to Change
