oh week in review...

well this week turned out to be quite eventful. not all good, but definitely not all bad.

monday started out with my face breaking out and becoming quite inflamed. after talking to a few people Emily, one of my wonderful friends, suggested i look into eczema. so i did and i definitely think that's what i have, although i don't think i had an awful case of it. but it wasn't pretty.

tuesday was the low of the week. yes, lower than my face totally swelled on monday. my face still wasn't pretty, though. i walked out my door and was greeted by snow and wind perfectly aimed right for me. ugh. then i was basically beyond bored at work, making for a very long day. i do not like being bored. i even asked advice from some of my friends. what to do at work when bored? (don't worry it's better now). then my head started hurting, maybe from boredom.

but then i slept 8 hours and i felt AWESOME the next morning!

wednesday i got to hit up happy hour with emily. which was awesome.

thursday i went to a friend's work party.

friday i got to go in late to work because i was way over on my hours. (i already wrote about the morning, which was awesome) and then i worked over 10 hours. but they were awesome! i loved the astro overnight. i got to chat with lots of little kids and it was great!

today i had to be at work at the usual time, but i got to leave early and i was super busy the whole time i was there. i even got to train someone.

i get to see karen and marianne today and can't wait!

what did this week make me think? how much longer can i survive in chicago winters?

museum field trip

i've been doing really well on my field trip resolution . yesterday i hit up another one:  the chicago history museum .  it turns out it was a free day there, even though i was going to get in free anyway.  that means it was busy! which is fine, i still got to take a gander around.   I've never been to the history museum before so that in itself was exciting. probably my favorite part was when they talked about the world's fair in chicago (i can't remember the exact name).  the buildings were so much grander than i imagined them in my mind while i read, devil in the white city a couple months ago.  it was fun to see what it was really like.  and wow! there was also an awesome exhibit about workers rights and such. so it was a fun little excursion.

26 miles in 26 days

So the title isn`t exactly correct, but I ran a marathon yesterday and it was Melissa & my`s one month being here. But Caro helped me come up with the title and I thought it was catchy. So marathon #2 and a completely different experience than the one I ran last year in Chicago. Lisa Rottler Chamberlin is the name I ran the race with...I tried to sign up as Lisa Rottler, but it forced me to enter mom`s maiden name or i couldn`t continue with registration. the first difference I experienced this marathon in a very different way. In Chicago I was competitive I would say. It was on my mind since February of last year when I signed up. I was didigent about training and very serious about it. This year I signed up like 3 weeks ago and it was very last minute. Although, I ran like I was training for the marathon this summer in Chicago-that was 2 months ago. Last year the weekend of the marathon I rested. This year Friday night I went to my first quinceanera and got home at 4 a...

thanksgiving time

( via ) Yes, I like Santa.  But why is everyone so anxious to start with Christmas?  Why can't we appreciate Thanksgiving first? don't get me wrong, i'm excited to watch Love Actually again (when it's in-season.  i actually watch it all year long). everyone kept talking about christmas being everywhere this month, but i really only encountered it when i walked around the mall with Greta (my sister-in-law) on Monday.  it was all over the mall.  it could have been december. look what Nordstrom is doing i'm actually really excited for thanksgiving this year... (details to follow) but as far as today goes... I have to share this with you because I think it's funny ( via ) actually... at 11:11 I was running around looking for a book called The Moon Seems to Change
