We lost.

Last night the Cardinals lost.  We are now down 3-1 in the series and it seems almost impossible that we will advance to the World Series.  Especially since their pitcher tonight killed us in Game 1.  Maybe they figured him out?  I have no idea.  We've been so hot and cold all season, I just wish we could be super hot right now, which we will need to be if we want to advance.

While, yes, we did lose, but I had a great time at the Cardinals bar.

*Lovely group of people.

*It's so nice/strange when my friend, Molly, introduces me to her St. Louis friends she says I'm from Ste. Gen.  Which I am.  But no one's ever heard of it.  These people have!
Here's how I usually introduce myself:
I'm from Missouri.  If they ask.
It's a small town called Ste. Genevieve sort-of close to St. Louis.  blank stares

*one of the girls claims she is an inexperienced Cardinals fan.  She is definitely a fan!  She's just learning the ins and outs.  After I corrected things she said a few times (maybe that was rude).  She just hit me up with questions & by the end of the game we were besties.

*i love being able to sit around and talk baseball without making sure I don't dive in to deep, in order to avoid boring whomever I'm talking with.  Typically I get on my baseball talk and slowly watch the eyes' of the person I'm talking with glaze over.  Not in this crowd!  They like the info and will throw some back at me.

*Such a good group of people.
One guy came in the room and asked why we can't turn on the Blackhawks game.  Everyone booed.  Then one guy in our group yelled, "There are a hundred bars with the blackhawks game on."  True.  That was the only one with the Cardinals game on all TVs and the speakers.

*They played a lot of Nelly ;)

*One of the girls dislikes the Giants so much.  Honestly, I don't have anything against them.  I dislike the Dodgers very, very much so there are some ulterior motives to beating them.  With the giants, I just really want to beat them.

*They had Schlafly Pumpkin Ale!!!!  One of the group bought a round and it was SO good!  We all cheersed and cheered.
I'm hoping to hit up the Schlafly brewery tour Sunday after the marathon.
*My old co-worker friend is a big Giants fan and she usually shit talks the Cardinals during the game.  Then after the game, when, yes, the Giants won.  She sends the below and it made me feel better

You bet tonight I will be wearing all the Cardinals things possible and cheering for my team :)

Fall Fun!

We could not have asked for better fall weather this weekend.  70 degrees.  Sunny.  We just wanted to be outside the entire time.   We went for runs and decided we needed to spend even more time appreciating the fall foliage, which apparently will peak in two weeks.  So two more weeks to enjoy!  We checked out a new to us restaurant.   Then we took a trip to Grant's Farm, which neither one of us had been to since we were kids.  And neither one of us remembered.  Capping off another day spent outside. Monday I hopped on my bike to get to work and my body felt tired from the fun of the weekend.  I looked out my window at my desk and saw so many beautiful leaves, I took a photo on the walk back to where I park my bike. P.S. Yes, I got a new job!  Hooray!  A more detailed update is coming.

Lake Recap

Yep, it's recap time from the week my family and I spent at the Lake . My parents rented a house and a boat for our family for the week.  We were around mile 24 for those of you who've been there before. Dad, Mom, Jeff, Greta & Charlie all slept in the guest house so that meant... Karen & I had the whole main house to ourselves.  ;)  (If only we didn't disagree on the temperature so much. I like it warmer than her).   That might be a bit of an exaggeration.  We had the whole place to ourselves, unless someone wanted food, hang out in the living room, do laundry, etc. We pretty much relaxed the whole time we were there.   We were out on the boat at least once a day. Karen & I are ready for a day on the boat! We got in some tubing and skiing.  (No pictures exist of tubing, but it happened.  My scabs from the cloth burn just came off at the end of last week.  And just ask Karen.  She was sore.  We all were.) ...

26 miles in 26 days

So the title isn`t exactly correct, but I ran a marathon yesterday and it was Melissa & my`s one month being here. But Caro helped me come up with the title and I thought it was catchy. So marathon #2 and a completely different experience than the one I ran last year in Chicago. Lisa Rottler Chamberlin is the name I ran the race with...I tried to sign up as Lisa Rottler, but it forced me to enter mom`s maiden name or i couldn`t continue with registration. the first difference I experienced this marathon in a very different way. In Chicago I was competitive I would say. It was on my mind since February of last year when I signed up. I was didigent about training and very serious about it. This year I signed up like 3 weeks ago and it was very last minute. Although, I ran like I was training for the marathon this summer in Chicago-that was 2 months ago. Last year the weekend of the marathon I rested. This year Friday night I went to my first quinceanera and got home at 4 a...
